I haven't bought a new car since 2001 as my two Dodges drive, drive and drive! The downside is that the diesel and gas burners were made before all those relatively new technologies like the rear view camera. I've spent the last forty years getting out of a truck while having sex to make sure I'm in business. Eventually, as I got older, it became one of those things that wasted my time and annoyed me to no end. I bought one of these a month ago in desperation and found it to be the best thing since sliced bread. I hook up to one of my seven trailers several times a week and never have to leave the cab. until it fits the clutch. I place the camera part on a pole above the hitch ball and adjust the angle so I can see about 10 feet before I get close to the hitch. Any angle or distance adjustments can easily be made while reversing. After that, the ball easily disappears under the hinge of your set. I'm so impressed I've just purchased a second unit to have in either truck anytime. The only thing I can't comment on yet is the overall lifespan of the feature as I've only had it for a month and can't comment on overnight usage as I haven't had a need yet. I'm willing to bet that the backup lights on a truck are adequately lit when hitched. Obviously an extra light source could be added to reduce hours of use in the dark.
