Update: I've had it like 2 starts from the following but now it's 1. My son's bike isn't good for this and is 'anti'. Shaking' doesn't stop shaking. So basically I bought this to dress up my bike and put my son's bike in my car, which kind of doesn't make sense to buy that. Oh, and in case you don't want to read on "I had to buy a bolt, a washer and a hitch extender for this. To collect the basic stuff I order online. Now. I've seen reviews before. People didn't like the straps that held the bikes. I would say yes i agree they are stubborn about putting the rubber on top of the pin you want it to snap into. you could even use velcro and i would be happier. but technically it works. remember that it's a 2" -Has receiver so most SUV's use 1" receiver. You need adapter. (Between the two it's still cheaper than more expensive racks). Finally. In the guide would like I point out the screws. You have three bolts. 3/8-16x3.25, 3/8-16x3 and 3/8-16x2.5. Without calibrators, I want to know who sees the difference between the 3. I wonder if it matters where you use them? no Also, they supply you with two Allen keys and one Allen key (not used). I would have planned to use an adjustable wrench and honestly it would have taken longer. Next thing I would like to point out is that the washers do not match the main bolt that is presumably used to attach the strut to the car. Then on top of that, the recommendations are pretty much a joke. Nothing was marked and the photos were not very helpful. I had random shims at the time and nowhere in the instructions did it say shims should be used. Apparently they're supposed to stop all of this from oscillating when connected to the car (there's no guide on how to do that). I didn't get this far because I had to use one of the nuts to secure the 3/18 bolts because none of the nuts would fit on either bolt. So finally. Things I needed or will need on this bike rack. the part that turns my hitch into a 2 inch. An extra washer if I want to use a swinging thing that doesn't have instructions. Yes, and the bolt used to attach it to the bike does not have a suitable washer. So I need a second washing machine. Home Depot sells an actual hitch bolt for $3, so I buy those instead of the washers. Sorry for the long review, maybe this will prepare someone. If you don't like putting the pieces together, this might not be for you. Or the company could fix what's in their boxes. For the price, I'm happy with the fight.
