Review on 🌟 Experience Gentle Illumination with Philips 454546 Dimmable WarmGlow 2200K 2700K Bulb by Glen Sprout

Much dimmer and warmer than others, just what I wanted

I moved into a new house a little over a year ago and one of the things on my list was home automation and replacing all the light bulbs with LEDs. This house had a few lightbulbs, but the built-in lightbulbs in the kitchen were all incandescent. They gave off a great warm glow on the darkest mode, which is exactly what I wanted for evening/tuned lighting, but they got quite hot and seemed to burn out quite often (in one case the "socket" itself seemed to fail) . - This was another fix I solved with a product from Revain). Of course, as light bulbs, they also increase our electricity costs. So I bought several different LED spares, most of which were 3000K. One was 50W, but on its lowest setting it was *MUCH* too bright (and not warm enough). The other was 35W and didn't seem dimmer than the 50W model on the lowest settings. I was hoping that replacing the dimmer with a Lutron Caseta dimmer (HomeKit compatible) might fix the problem, but no luck. I thought I was unlucky but then I spotted them on Revain with great reviews. I didn't like the price, but others left me downright grumpy under it, so I knew if they could give me the warm, subdued light I needed, then they were worth it. I have received the order. quickly and installed them last night. The light is exactly what I wanted. There may be a slight "difference" in color/dimming compared to incandescent bulbs, but it's not what I would call "worse", just a little bit different. However, there is a problem. For some reason when I turn on with the Lutron Caseta dimmer, the lights instantly drop to the lowest level, they flicker *sometimes* (maybe at a higher level but I'm not sure) then immediately turn off and sweep then immediately return to the weakest level. This doesn't always happen, and the problem may be more of a minor "compatibility issue" with Lutron Caseta dimmers. Lutron sells a more expensive Caseta dimmer that can solve this problem, but I don't mind that problem, so I figure I'll probably just leave them paired with the already fairly expensive "regular" Caseta dimmer I use will.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Doubtful
