Better workmanship or design revision is needed.

Once again, Revain is combining product reviews across multiple devices. This review refers to the SilverStone M.2 SATA USB 3.1 Enclosure. From the beginning there were problems with the processing of this device. The case is aluminum and is cut to provide a shelf/ledge/PCB guide that slides back and forth with a thumb button. Nothing wrong with this part, the included board fits perfectly. However, when I attached the M.2 drive to the board, it had to fit between the sides of the case, under the rails that the board slides back and forth on. That's the problem - the walls aren't wide enough to comfortably accommodate this. So after I attached the drive to the board and inserted it into the case, the drive was wedged between the sides of the case, preventing the board from moving in and out of the case with the thumb button. Actually I had to pull it out again. I'm sure M2 rims should be industry standard, but we're talking G10 material which isn't machined to the exact "machining standards" that SilverStone had to consider when making its decision. to the permissible tolerances associated with this fit. You need to add another 0.005 to 0.010 inch to the body width. I was able to fix this by sanding down the sides of the M2 drive with sandpaper - it didn't take long, just a few 0.001 inches. s and it was good. However, I don't need to grind my discs for them to work properly in this case. Otherwise everything seems to be working fine so far.
