Because this particular headset only covers one ear, you'll hear background noise, but not enough to be distracting. The only volume control is on the phone. The sound quality is excellent. 1 less worries about who used it and if they disinfected it in the era of COVID 19 like I would. In my case the perfect performance for what you need in an office or hospital.
