Roku output to the input of this device. The output of this device leads to the HDMI input of the Yamaha receiver. HDMI output from a Yamaha receiver to a very old TV with a DVI input using an HDMI to DVI adapter cable. This unit's analog audio output connects to the Zone 2 analog audio input of a Yamaha receiver, allowing me to hear streaming audio in other rooms. The picture and surround sound quality of the TV is excellent. No switching from direct Roku to TV connection (maybe even a little better!). I use "ARC on" setting and "5.1 CH" setting. Analog audio separated from Roku HDMI is great for audio to speakers in other rooms. Incidentally, the loudspeakers in the other rooms are hardwired to the receiver. 1st day off the hook but the beginning is still very impressed
