Bought for my son who makes stop motion videos with an iPad Air. PRO: The remote control keychain is a great feature that makes it easy to take still photos. Even pressing a button on an iPad can cause camera shake and stitching images together can be a bit jagged. This feature solves that problem and provides a decent base for an iPad to rest on. CONS: The tripod itself is very thin and feels cheap. So far the leg extensions and various locking mechanisms have held up well. However, the quick connector holding the iPad broke completely in half, rendering it unusable when it snapped onto the mounting plate and contained a lever intended to hold the mount on the tripod. The worst part was that it wasn't due to rough use or a fall. The iPad was simply tilted down to shoot over the subject and the weight of the iPad and mount broke the top of the tripod. Lasted about a week with normal use. The iPad holder can expand or contract depending on the size of your device, but is barely big enough to hold an iPad Air. We had a very thin protective case on the iPad, so it was too big for the mount. But turning it on and off every time he wanted to use the tripod seemed unnecessarily complicated. If you rarely use it for staged photography right in front of you, it will likely work just fine. If you plan on moving your tripod or changing your shooting angle often, I'd recommend spending a little more to get a more solid model.
