Not easy, but effective. By doing all your homework and visiting car forums. I found the right way to use this product more effectively. Note. Use at your own risk, it worked for me despite having the infamous (faulty) Castech Alluminum heads on a 2000 GMC Sierra 1500 5.3L. These are the steps you need to take to get great results. Every step to the end must be done on a cool engine.1. Flush the coolant from the vehicle. Very important, leave it on the can, but in my experience coolant and K&W don't go well together.2. Read the label on the can to find out how much to add based on the capacity of your cooling system. In my case, I premixed 1/2 bottle with 16 ounces of distilled water. I premixed it because it's thick and lumpy.3. The supply is only through the radiator cap or the upper pipe, which was the case in my case. Tip: Use a used hose as a funnel if you don't have a lid to prevent spills.4. Manually squeeze the hoses to remove air bubbles and allow the product to sink.5. Close or pinch anything you left open in step 1. Let the engine idle for 15 minutes. Very important, don't turn it up or accelerate, just let it go and look at the temperature. 6. FINALLY after 500 miles I drove the car with only distilled water and K&W 401224-6 FiberLock gasket. The bank says to take it out, I'm not up to 500 miles. You don't have to run them on the same day, just drive 500 miles. Flush the system and fill with fresh coolant. This works best in the summer because we only work with water and can freeze or cook if the heat is too high. I'm in Texas (90-100 degrees). I haven't had any problems as there is no coolant leaking and no antifreeze smell under the oil cap.
