The cable has a male connector at the end of each RCA connector and this connector allows the cable to go into the jack more securely when the cable is This separation is a great engineering idea and the OTHER Mediabridge cable I ordered (15ft) arrived in perfect condition. as delivered. I was going to return it but figured I could avoid the hassle by connecting the two ends of the "Y". However, when I tried this (using my thumb and forefinger instead of pliers) one of "Y's" legs broke off and I couldn't "fix" the problem, nor do I suspect that happened or there was a packaging problem . Either way, based on the other two reviews of this product, based on my experience with the 15ft cable (100% positive) I would buy it again. But this one gets a star because it was completely useless and I couldn't in good conscience rate it any higher. (FWIW, I gave a 15ft cord, got 5 stars.)
