I use this keypad to turn off the 350# magnetic door lock on our solar barn. This is done primarily so children or random people don't wander in, in fact this is our "powerhouse". That works great. The structure is simple, I could easily mount it outside next to the door and lay a cable to connect it to the power supply and the door lock. The keypad can be used as an interrupt, normally allowing power to be applied to the magnet, but when you unlock it it will turn off briefly allowing you to open the door. If I need to disable the lock for a while, I have a toggle switch in the door that I can flip to turn the lock off. I love that I can enter a few codes (in case I forget one) and it also works with the fob so we can just have the fob on our keys and we're in a hurry. All in all a great addition to add some security without adding too much complexity.
