This backpack/daypack easily folds back into a small square when empty. It's easy to put in a large suitcase when traveling, which is what I use it for. The fabric material is flimsy, the straps/clips/zips are basic but functional, and the details aren't designed for durability or longevity. And you can't stuff it with a lot of stuff or it will look lumpy/bulky. Not very nice. But I really like this bag when I just need to carry a few basic things with me throughout the day. It is suitable for children and I use it when I need to go outside for a short time (walking the dog, hiking, sightseeing, etc.). I wouldn't call it waterproof, but it really is. easy to clean.
