Came back to riding after a hiatus, bought DC running shoes at the time (Graffik, Graveler) and after riding both in front of them the difference between day and night.
More grip on flips and bumps makes it a monumental difference from the inferior stuff DC uses for a small premium. Short answer: You'll go through 2 pairs of skateboard shoes for the same price that are less responsive before you even honeymoon with them.
