Phenomenal!: Aquarium Pumps and Filters

My Use: I have a 75 gallon turtle tank that currently has an 8 inch RES. I upgraded the Marineland Magnum 350. Cleaning the filter takes about half the time and I do it about every 3 weeks instead of once a week with my old filter. The filter foam doesn't need to be changed nearly as often as advertised, I change them every 3 months or so. I change the polishing pads every time I clean and they're a bit pricey, but still less than what I spent constantly changing the filter bags on my Magnum. Pros: This filter retains crystal clear water and eliminates odors despite the large turtle and rocks. as a substrate. It's incredibly quiet for such a powerful filter. I can't hear it until I try it and it's not currently in my aquarium stand. Setup is so easy it took me about 45 minutes to set it up out of the box. Cleaning the filter takes about 20 minutes and is as simple as lifting the baskets and rinsing. The large primer also makes restarting easier. Cons: It's huge. It doesn't fit in my aquarium stand so I'm going to buy a new stand now but I think it's my fault for buying the stand I made. It is very heavy when it contains water. I'm guessing it holds about 5 gallons. So be prepared to soak up some water if you can't carry around 50 pounds. It doesn't come with filter cleaners so I had to use my own pipe cleaners which isn't a big deal but my Magnum 350 comes with everything I need. Replacement parts like charcoal bags, foam filters and buffing pads are expensive, so be prepared to shell out monthly if you keep fish that are sensitive to the environment. coal and invest in them. http://smile.amazon.com/CNZ-Universal-Ammonia-Remover-Bio-ball/dp/B00IJIFJGU/Overall: If you are tired of constantly cleaning the tank and filter. Do yourself a favor and buy this filter. Just make sure the aquarium stand is big enough to accommodate it.
