If your daughter is slim this dress might suit her. We ordered a black and white polka dot dress. The fabric doesn't stretch at all and the cut is thin. My daughter usually wears a 12/14 and is of average weight, girlish build, no curves. We tried size 14 and it looked very good but was tight in the middle, didn't stretch comfortably and didn't allow for easy movement while playing the piano. I reordered a size 16 and the arms and hem were too long. The dress is very pretty and well made. Remember to pass.
