Bought these for dog training and they are great for that purpose! I tried turning it upside down and using it to ask my dog to sit down and she did so I think the sound quality is good enough for both understanding and communication. I'm also SLP and can try to get some of these to work. The sound quality is great for dog training. I would use it in short term therapy sessions to work on cause and effect using buttons to communicate but if you are looking for a long term option I would prefer something a bit more high tech and if the child is capable of it they still can use the free app. which I have on my phone for a causal connection pressing an icon for a connection. The sound quality is as good as some of the more expensive similar products I've used in therapy, but not as good as a tablet, phone, or other kid's toy. They are great for what I will use them for! All 3 work perfectly for me.
