I ordered this fan to replace my old Aero Cool AV12025 that came with my system and died after about 18 months of heavy use. For the past few weeks, my desktop case has been vibrating loudly and its vents have given off heat, hence the replacement. If you're experiencing this, it's definitely time to replace the fan! When I took out the old one I noticed that it has 3 holes while the new Arctic F12 fan has 4. However, Arctic has a little plastic thing that prevents it from being connected incorrectly. It also comes with its own set of 4 case mounting screws so installation only took a few minutes. There are many videos on Youtube showing this simple procedure, so feel free to do it yourself even if you are new to PC hardware. Now my computer is much quieter than it was in the past few weeks when my old case fan died. The Arctic F12 spins so quietly and quickly that at first glance you can hardly tell it's moving at all! I also compared the temperatures using the free SpeedFan app. Compared to my dying fan, temperatures have increased from 44 degrees to 31 degrees during productivity applications like MS Office. In graphics-intensive games, the temperature dropped from 73 to 54 degrees. This fan is definitely doing its job so far!
