I used Crucial's system scan tool to find memory upgrade options for my HP 15 series laptop (model 15-ba009dx, bought 2 years ago, 4GB RAM, with Windows 10) and decided to add an 8 GB memory card to my empty slot, which would increase my RAM to 12 GB. Then I found that TIMETEC had the best combination of low price and the best company ratings for the specific type of 8GB memory card I wanted. Even though their website listed hundreds of laptop models that were compatible with their memory card version, my laptop wasn't listed, so I emailed them (support@timetecinc.com) and asked for confirmation. Literally 3 hours later they replied to confirm compatibility. I then immediately placed my order (using the free shipping option) and it was in my local Revain locker in just 3 days. After watching a great YouTube tutorial video, I learned that I had to remove the battery, pull out the DVD player/recorder, and open the entire back of the laptop. I undid many screws (including two hidden under the rubber feet) and used a butter knife to gently pry and loosen the back panel to reveal the memory slot. After putting the sink faucet on the floor (static discharge), I installed a new 8GB memory card. This part of the process actually took only 10 seconds. Then I snapped the back of the laptop back into place, tightened the screws, and rebooted the laptop. When I first started, my "System Information" correctly showed that I now had 12GB of RAM, but some other things weren't working properly, so I restarted it. This seemed to fix the situation, but I did another reboot just in case. I then used the task manager for a few hours to observe what the laptop was doing. It seemed to silently go through a series of system reconfigurations (even did some automatic defrags), apparently to move things around to make better use of the expanded RAM resources. When he calmed down, I realized my $40 was well spent. Before the RAM upgrade, my system was using at least 50% of my RAM even when it was idle, so I only had about 1.8GB of unused RAM to work with. This slowed down my memory-intensive programs, such as the programs I use to edit music, photos, or videos. But now my background RAM usage has dropped to 16% (CPU at 1%, DISK at 0%) and I have almost 9GB of unused RAM. My laptop is "faster" especially when I use the programs mentioned. I should note that when I first opened these programs after a RAM upgrade, they seemed to pause for a minute to adjust to the improved RAM situation (and possibly reinstall drivers or whatever), but once you've done that initial setup, you'll be running MUCH faster than ever. The delay was only once when I first opened it. The new TIMETEC memory card itself worked perfectly the whole time. I am very happy with my purchase from TIMETEC (28 Nov 2018) GREAT PRICE...GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE...GREAT SHIPPING...AND GREAT PRODUCT.
