Ease of installation. Why is it taking me so long?

My trailer roof window is broken. Yes, it was old, it didn't catch the wind that much, and it crashed somewhere on I-35. So I had a plastic box of bricks on my trailer for a few years. No, I didn't drive like that, with a brick. But I digress. So I measured the skylight. or at least what was left and picked it up where it had probably been on the table for a year. Yes, I took my time, and I knew it was going to be a long, tedious process that would involve six trips to the local hardware store and still wouldn't work properly. But in the end I decided I was ready. I had to do it and nothing could stop me. So, with a tool kit and a spare skylight in hand, I set about fixing the skylight. And I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was. The total time to remove the last remnants of the old and replace the new was probably 20-30 minutes. He slid there beautifully, hooked into the power mechanism, and everything worked in no time. after replacing the trim inside, everything looked as good as before. and I don't need a brick on top to keep it closed. the water doesn't come back in, at least not until the Texan sun hits it again. It feels like they created these things using common standards and processes so they can be easily fixed. So yes, it has worked well for me and I know next time if it happens I won't have to worry.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
