First of all, this is NOT a steel mandrel. The name is misleading and they put me on it. I believe the gauge rings and the wire loop they are on are steel, but that's about it. A scratch-free hammer is cheap, but I'm just a house guy. This would be good for casual or occasional use. After doing a little more research (because I've been banging on it for 15 minutes now and there's almost no change) I found out it was a calibration mandrel. It cannot be used to enlarge a ring because the aluminum is too soft. There's a guy on YouTube who made that distinction. He put it on a stainless steel mandrel, hit it twice and you were done.
