Review on πŸͺ’ Adjustable Safety Razor, Merkur Progress MK-500001 by Monique Johnson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Solid construction but needs some work

I bought this razor because I was tired of throwing all the plastic from disposables. I basically love it. It fits my hand well, although I wish the handle was 1/2 inch longer. It works as advertised and is easy to use. I have just one comment. It has a scale/bezel on the bottom of the handle. to guide the adjustable exposure of the blade. However, there is no fixed "stop" and you just have to guess where to place it. The (very minimal) instructions warn against twisting it "too tight," but they don't tell you how to know when to stop. When inserting the blade you will need to make the handle a few turns to tighten and place the blade/guard. But where are you staying? I decided to give only three turns and then place them next to 2 or 3 on the bezel. You can actually tighten it past the ZERO mark, but then you have to go back the numbers past zero to find the right adjustment. This is my first straight blade razor, maybe I'm just unfamiliar with this system. Are they all that inaccurate?
