An excellent starter kit! This was a gift for a 4 year old who is new to Lego! She already has Duplos but is more than ready to start building her Lego collection! I had used it as a gift before so I knew it was tested and true! All kids love the tote bag! Easy to take with you when you visit grandma or travel! A great way to store lego bricks. We use it for other purposes like color sorting and dice counting. An easy way to add a lesson or two to your day! For less than $20, this makes a great gift, with over 200 items, a detailed instruction manual, and a nice carrying case. A few years ago, Lego made a tote bag with a built-in base plate. It would be a great addition for this case, but a regular backing board won't fit unless it's cut and glued inside. Yes I have done it with other cases! To make this the perfect gift I sent it along with a Lego baseplate and a Lego 4+ Vet set so she has a figure and vehicle! It was nice to see her 4 year old imagination in action but even better it was great to see the bond between grandparent and grandchild grow. What a special time they spent together after the party. Lego building is now part of their routine and special time! I'm always happy when I can shape the future of a little person. I know what Lego has done for my own children and even for me. As an adult builder, it's fun no matter what set you build. Freestyle build or set. It's your decision. It could be both. As always, the Lego brand is trusted for safety and quality. They can be inherited over many years and are timeless classics.
