I can't compare it to other pistol mics as it's the only mic I own. Comes with foam pouch, 2 cables - (1) 1/4" XLR and (1) 3.5" XLR, 2 microphone mounts - (1) cold shoe mount and (1) 5/8β mount (without switching to 3/8 ). ). At this point I was trying out the microphone's built-in rechargeable battery and also using the phantom power that came with the Tascom DR-40 audio recorder (no microphone battery). Also uses an XLR/1/4" cable and a dedicated XLR cable. Cables, both options work equally well. However, I've read that this type of microphone (electret capsule) may not be designed to operate on XLR-fed phantom power (Battery not installed in the microphone) because the phantom power voltage may be too high and the microphone may output out of order. It is recommended to use a dedicated built-in resistor to control the phantom power voltage.More research is needed on this topic. For now, it's a nice addition to some of the basic video gear I currently use.
