Great boom mic for recording quality sound at a bargain price

I am very impressed with this mic which I use on my boom. The sound quality is excellent in both settings. I use a different XLR than the one that came with the kit so I can input data into my Tascam DR 40 and the mic is attached to my boom with a better mic mount than the one that came with the kit but that was my plan. Very satisfied and highly recommended. Honestly, when it comes to price and brand name I can afford to buy a mic's "name" and pay more, but why on earth spend money on a name…

Customer support was top notch. The product works too.

Good entry level product. Some argue that this isn't a 'proper' boom mic, but that goes for technical details beyond the reach of the layperson. I wasn't happy with that. I contacted customer service and Nana solved the problem and they sent me a full replacement product. No fuss, no hassle. That's great service. Simply put, with the right settings, it's great for recording YouTube videos or any other type of recording where you need this type of mic. However, you MUST adjust your settings…

An excellent budget microphone when connected to a quality preamp!

Excellent low budget microphone when connected to a high quality preamp! If you plan to connect this mic to a DSLR, you will most likely introduce a lot of noise into your recording! DSLRs are notorious for poor quality preamps! You can get an excellent low-noise recording by using a digital recorder like the Zoom H4N or recorder like Tascam and syncing your track to your video in post. The 14.17"/36cm Neewer® directional microphone has a clear, bright sound and is not as bass-heavy. For the…

Don't buy them without reading this first.

So I'm a semi-professional audio engineer, I can make an awful sound good enough to use. After reading the reviews and seeing some reviews on YouTube I knew they would work great! ONLY when used correctly! They might not sound good plugged directly into your camera if your camera has horrible preamps (these are the circuits that power your mic and keep it clean) so I used my h4n zoom, the preamps amplified and boom! the sound was fantastic! Second, it's a mono mic, which is great for my…

Good inexpensive boom mic

I've owned this mic for over a year and it's one of my favorite mics for boom work. It didn't work well as an on-camera mic due to its size, but as a boom mic it works great for me. The microphone can be a bit sensitive as it can pick up cable noise if the cables are not tight. . This mic doesn't pick up much bass either, but I use it for dialogue, not music, so I'm happy with the results. The microphone is powered by one AA battery, not phantom power. There are also certain 1/4" XLR connectors

WOW, not bad for the price! (Microphone with electret capsule)

I can't compare it to other pistol mics as it's the only mic I own. Comes with foam pouch, 2 cables - (1) 1/4" XLR and (1) 3.5" XLR, 2 microphone mounts - (1) cold shoe mount and (1) 5/8” mount (without switching to 3/8 ). ). At this point I was trying out the microphone's built-in rechargeable battery and also using the phantom power that came with the Tascom DR-40 audio recorder (no microphone battery). Also uses an XLR/1/4" cable and a dedicated XLR cable. Cables, both options work equally…

Great price and much better than expected.

I was wrong! Good microphone for the price, unbeatable in this price range. We bought it as a backup and because we had multiple activities in one day. We used it and the wireless sinks to live stream and record the ceremony. We use wireless toilets for the groom and companion. Didn't want to photograph the bride because of the outfit. It was very windy and I didn't think I would get anything useful out of it. I leaned over to the Lavas and tried every EQ and processing trick in my 25 years of…

Don't waste your time with this hot junk

This mic might be good for connecting to a DSLR and recording low budget videos, but it's the only way to avoid wasting energy. time and money. I wanted to use it as a second mic to help with virtual/remote D&D games with friends during this pandemic. The idea was that I could move around a little more while interacting with different things in my room while streaming via Zoom or Discord with a cheap gun mic. I have a small mixer with phantom power and use a Neewer NW-8000 as my main…

Neewar 14.71 "Quick Audio Rundown by Experienced Geek

UPDATED June 18, 2017 Church Choir for video streaming to other locations that have classic 70v sound systems with speakers only though I like good sounding audio and have my sights set on a Sennheiser MKH-416, all I needed for now was a shotgun with a quality PA mic system Here's the recap: 1) Very quick and subjective tests 2) Tested with Zoom H6 using SGH-6 monaural plug-in microphone and in-ear monitoring headphones 3) Also compared to Audio-Technica VT125 Handheld Cardioid Vocal Microphone

Pros
  • Very Good Value
Cons
  • Unbelievable Price
