We have to re-glue the seal on our fireplace insert. It was never glued properly at first, but lately it's getting lost at the ends. I followed the directions but first I held the tube with my knee for a few minutes before opening it. Note that you put some newspapers inside, as the cement can spread out a little and the first squeeze of the tube may result in a larger ball popping out than expected. Clean the groove where the gasket with the wire sits, and then dampen the groove with a damp paper towel. . Finally apply a good layer of glue. Then replace the gasket in the groove, close the door and allow it to sit on the tube as indicated. And finally, after the initially set time, we lit the fire and brought it up to the temperature indicated on the curing tube. The seal is now properly bonded to the door panel. I will buy again if necessary.
