That's great!

Chimney wanted to charge me over $250 to fill a roughly 1 inch gap in my firebox that exposed some of the insulation. A 16 ounce can. This filled one side of my firebox perfectly. I followed her healing instructions. Made a small fire and let it burn a little and then got it nice and warm a little longer. No bubbles or anything unwanted at the end of the process. This stuff is rock hard. I felt good about finishing one side and just ordered another 16oz to finish the other.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as others

I thought I had a container of Furnace Cement until I opened it and it was rock hard. The reason why I ordered this product. Did a good job of filling the draft in the door, the slider broke off so was filling the air intake as the other door has an air intake and it really isn't needed so it worked fine. The product is easy to apply. with a piece of treated cardboard which I like more than a spatula as the treated cardboard is flexible to glue cement to the vent hole.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Great Price

Easy to use, works!

I used this to fill the 1/2 inch gap between the steel cornice frame and the stone face. First I filled the gap with folded wire mesh. This product easily adheres to the fabric and provides a strong and reliable seal. It dries out a lot, especially after using the fireplace. Note: I smeared the rest of the product onto the sides of the firebox to hide the gray cement I used earlier. I smeared the black cement very thinly and after the fire I noticed that the cement became crusty and flaked off…

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Some small things
