Review on ๐Ÿ”ช Optimal Precision with Two Cherries 515-3303 Chip Carving Knives - 3 Piece Set by Michael Keegan

I expected more. - Cutlery & Knife Accessories

I've heard a lot of good things about 2 Cherries (2C) and at this price point of $55 for three knives, $18 for one knife, I expected them to - you know, for beginners - maybe inferior steel, maybe not the highest quality wood for the handle, but certainly not that they will dull and cannot cut linden effectively because the blade is factory beveled! I'll tell you what makes a chip cutter a chip cutter by definition, except for the sheepskin profile, that's the absence of any bevels. The blade should be a single blade from the blade tip to the cutting edge - ONE perfect point. Surely 2C knows this and has the gear to get it right? no They are all beveled. Sharpened on the machine. The logo is also badly stamped, probably due to the old matrix which they no longer use on their quality products. And so these 3 knives convinced me overall. as scrap from the A-quality line and are sold as entry-level tools to improve their bottom line. and I agree if a company wants to improve their processes and bottom line. But please don't pass off an inferior product as a beginner's tool for something it's not, and expect me to be impressed by the "Two Cherries" name, which by the way is just a sticker on the side of the handle. The above aren't the only issues or obvious signs of poor quality I've seen with these knives. These are the ones that will absolutely make you look elsewhere. look elsewhere
