I am allergic to metal so the top buckles on my jeans need replacing so I can wear them. I cut out the rivet. I stuff the hole with a thick thread, and then replace the hairpin with a strong button. This works really well but my arthritis hands prefer to use the original bobby pin. It works great if you follow the instructions. I might still react to the metal when I've been sweating profusely, but it covers well and sticks. The patches are not thin and I like the variety of colors.
