First, I'm an absolute amateur. It was also my first experience with an E-mount camera. I took my brand new Sony a6000 on vacation and learned along the way. I fiddled with the lenses on the tracks, trying to capture the whole scene backwards, and some serious buyers were initially shy. But as the journey continued and I gradually learned which lens to use and when, my shots got better. What I learned with this lens is that you need to know your distance! Once you know this and understand the possibilities, you'll be better equipped to switch lenses on the fly and learn what shots you can actually take. This lens focuses fairly quickly in auto mode, and it seems that only the shadow degrades the quality of the images. I originally gave this lens 4 stars but yesterday I took it to the lake and got some action shots from a bumpy, fast moving boat. Targets that also bounced. I was blown away by the clarity and had to give it one last star! Pros: Fast focusing. Clear, razor-sharp images. Stunning action shots with super fast shots. Cons: heavy. At full zoom, focusing takes a second or two longer.
