I was so excited to replace my laptop's built-in camera with a better external camera. Like many of us, I've been spending a lot of time on video calls lately. Finding this one with a built in ring light was like counting. However, as you can see from the test photos, the design of this camera leaves a lot to be desired. In the first image, the ring indicator of this camera is lit. This creates haze and distortion. Apparently the light is too close to the camera. You could think about that before production. The second shot was taken with the same camera, with the ring light off and the separate ring light on. As you can see the haze of the image is gone and the image is sharper. Conclusion: Why buy a ring light camera that doesn't work with your own ring light switched on? Needless to say it's coming back and I'm going back to the drawing board.
