Review on Kumho WinterCraft Ice WI31 195/60 R15 88T winter by Dorota Kownacka

In general, it's pretty good, an equal number of pros and cons.

Good time to all who read my review. Of course, I am late with this presentation, but suddenly someone has not yet decided to change their shoes. I bought these tires last year, in the summer. For a very long time I chose and asked the price of the size 215/60 R16. My standard size is 205/55 R16, or some with a slight difference. But I wanted more wheels, the more the car allows. A set of tires cost me 14,400, which was fine with me. At the same time, for this money I could take tires from a more eminent manufacturer for the same money, but the "standard" size of my car. But the toad on my shoulder croaked all sorts of arguments in favor of the size, not the quality of the rubber.))) Moreover, at the time of last year this model was only ONE year since it appeared on the market. Accordingly, the number of reviews about this model was rather scarce. But I decided to take a chance! So. I ordered them through an online store, and they brought them directly to my home. Seeing them live, I did not find anything new on them. All as in the picture. I felt . In terms of softness - medium. The softness of different sections of rubber varies. tread depth 9-10mm. The sidewall is nothing special. Spikes of an ordinary shape, that is, "round", ordinary, but this can be seen even in the picture. The downside is that these spikes are, as it were, and, as if they were not there! ))) They are located very deep in the tread and, when in contact with ice, these spikes simply scratch it))) That is, the uselessness of these spikes at the initial stage of operation is obvious! )) I was also ready for this when buying, because the review about this moment was already . In general, tires are good. After aggressive driving and slipping on asphalt, the spikes hatched a little towards the end of the winter season and began to work more informatively)))) My car is rear-wheel drive, without any stabilization systems and other ABS. 220 horses. And I do NOT recommend putting such tires on powerful rear-wheel drive cars.

Pros
  • Unconventional pattern, low noise level, price. Excellent behavior in slush and snow in general.
Cons
  • Very poor handling on ice. Thorns are deeply seated.
