I'm looking for a durable metal block to replace a crumbling OEM plastic block on my 2008 Jayco 24RKS caravan. The OEM support arms had a part number that was not recognized on the Carefree website, so I ventured a look at the images and dimensions provided for the product. The original part had 2 screw holes, the replacement part had 4 holes. I didn't want to drill more holes so I just used 2 side holes. Everything went fine, but the horizontal plane of the side holes is offset by about 1/2 inch. Too far to install but too close to ream (weak wood). The existing roof mount is critical to the 'hard latch', so I had to move the locking nut (without the crown) down 2 notches. The unit is too low there, so remember to raise it about 9/10 of the notch and let gravity do it before relocating it. A workaround would be to cut a slot in the bottom of the top slider for the castle nut to fit in, or forget the side holes and drill the top and bottom holes.
