Purchased for an interior door. Installation was pretty easy. Only longer because of the blunt jigsaw blade. If you have the right gear, this should be easy. I left the vinyl flap removed to allow the anxious cat and dog to get used to it. Then I added a clasp. The magnetic closure drives both of them insane. After examining it, I found that the magnetic strip on the bottom snaps in and out. I removed it and now they both started using it with the valve. It's only been a few weeks, I'll be turning the magnetic strip back on when AC season comes around so the room has proper weather protection. I'm glad I got this item early so both cat and dog can gradually get used to it so that in a few months they will be completely comfortable. It's durable, looks good and does the job!
