Well Made, Solid, and Will Match Most Decors

My cache of kitchen utensils outgrew my previous kitchen crock long ago, and the last utensil holder I ordered was a poorly manufactured, sorry mess of a disappointment. I was leery of being let down again, but then this lovely caddy entered my life – and part of my horde of tools now have a new place to call home.At first I was a bit intimidated by the size of the crock, since it’s both wider and taller than the old, chipped one I’ve been using for years. I feared that some of my smaller kitchen tools wouldn’t fit, or would drop down so far I wouldn’t be able to easily see them. That did turn out to be true for 2 of them – a short-handled, small whisk and a tiny stainless steel ladle – so they ended up destined for a drawer. But the tradeoff was that a bunch of other utensils were liberated from the clutter of the drawer and now are within easy reach on the counter.Since the photo was taken, I’ve moved many more utensils from the crowded drawer to the crock. It’s quite sturdy and well made, so I have no worries about it tipping over from being overloaded if I hastily grab a pair of tongs. I also appreciate the fact that it’s fully glazed and sealed – inside, outside, and bottom – so that it can be easily cleaned. Another feature I like is that even though it’s listed as being "framhouse style” (sic), it blends in with my slightly more modern stainless steel décor. This stoneware utensil crock is a great addition to my kitchen.

Pros
  • Large size accommodates a variety of cooking utensils and tools
Cons
  • The design is not ergonomic and may be uncomfortable to use
