I had a particularly bad allergy this season. While I've only lived with them for the past several years, this year has been so bad that I decided I had to try to remove the allergens from the air I breathe. That's why I bought this. When I read that it would automatically detect the air quality and adjust itself to the most appropriate setting, I was sure that as soon as I turned it on, it would tell me the air quality is terrible and would work hard to fix it to clean. Instead, it showed that the air quality was excellent, ran on the lowest setting, and eventually switched to Eco mode, shutting off completely half the time. Day. If I put it in my bedroom, maybe my allergies won't be as bad when I wake up in the morning? nope Same behavior as in my office. No difference in my allergies. For the final test, I put it in a child's room where the diaper pail was a constant source of bad smells. The device showed a very good air quality at the lowest level and switched to eco mode shortly afterwards. There was no noticeable difference in air quality in any of the rooms I tried it in. not improve. The smell is not gone or noticeably reduced. It wasn't apparent that the machine was doing anything useful at all. As far as I know, this thing didn't do anything but a little airflow, which I can do with a $5 fan.
