I used an extension cord to power two laptops and a cell phone. I was sitting next to the extension cord when it happened. The current drawn was so high that there was a voltage drop in the house and my desktop computer's UPS detected the voltage drop. There were three or four brownouts before the VR4 component flashed brightly and smoked. I bought this power strip on 7/10/2020 and the device failed on 10/18/2020. my name is mark I am an electronics technician with over 20 years experience in electronics repair. Although the accident was dramatic, I don't think it was a fire hazard. The device didn't last very long so I wouldn't recommend buying this extension cord.
