The system works great with our cats considering the coat. No instant results because it doesn't have the superhuman power of a stun gun; Give your pets some time to learn relatively smooth movements. It runs on CR2032 batteries (2 per collar, roughly every 2 months). Mini has a 5ft diameter (2.5ft radius) max range while the regular has a 12ft diameter (6ft radius) max offer. Range depends on received signal strength and is NOT accurate; For example, I'm picking up a cat and its collar may start beeping at 15 feet because my body is acting like a big antenna!
