AVOID! This is not the best solution for a person with a women's bike!

As a 61-year-old woman, I enjoyed biking in my neighborhood and decided it was time to get serious and ride the beautiful trails of Southwest Illinois. Tow hitch and bike rack mounted and then I thought I was done. Yesterday I fitted this handlebar to the bike and moved very slowly to make sure I did everything right. I was unhappy with the front (handlebar part) scratching the metal of my bike but figured it was the cost of transporting the bike. After checking everything three times, I lifted the bike onto the rack and gave it a good yank, and then it started. Less than two miles from home I glanced in my rear view mirror and saw the bike was about to come off the stand. I stopped in the middle of the road and it was the drawbar that broke. He jumped right off the bike. It was a detail on the steering wheel, and the shutter on the front opened. When I tried to remove the bike to reattach the turnbuckle, my fingers got pinched and it was quite painful. I inspected the breech and saw no damage, so I stood in the middle of the road, reattached the cocking rod, and double-checked to make sure everything was ok. Less than a mile later I pulled up at a small park and found the latch had come loose again. At that point I gave up and returned home. In short, it's junk. The clasp on the front just won't hold when pressed. This many positive reviews is a mystery because if I were on the interstate I would lose the bike and this is an $800 stretch. And that doesn't take into account the problem of damaging someone else's car or worse. Avoid this item. It's worse than useless.
