Much cheaper and fits better in Thule Hitch Rack than Thule Bar

Although I have a Thule bike mount for the hitch, the Thule Cross Bar will not fit my Raleigh Step-Thru bike or the Thule stand mount. I picked it up and bought this one and saved about $40! It's easy to turn on and off and works great with the Thule stand. Very satisfied! I use about two months (daily, sometimes 2 times a day). No problem. I would recommend putting it on with the exposed spring facing down to keep moisture out of the spring mechanism. I will definitely take another one.

It was the answer to my prayers for the bike! .

This was the answer to my prayers for bike transport! I have a ladies beach boat so no top bar and a pair that doesn't fit a bike. I bought a bike rack but because my bike didn't have a top bar it couldn't sit flat on my trunk causing uneven pressure on my car - and unstable bike ride! This bar straightens the alignment and allows you to mount the bike perpendicular to the car. The pull rod is very reliable and now I don't have to worry when I'm out on my bike. Another plus is that I liveโ€ฆ

Inexpensive item, saves a lot of time

I was looking for a solution to transport a women's mountain bike with a frame in the spare wheel case, as the top tube is tilted, which allows the bike to be placed in an uncomfortable position on my luggage rack for Recreational Yakima to be mounted. While it does the job it's supposed to do, I have trouble getting it off if the seatpost is 31.6 or larger in diameter. The only way to remove it is from the latch side of the clip and since the spring is under tension, be very careful when doing

Still loved it for trunk, transport and storage

Before this bar I had a sari that I bought with the bike. The Saris bar felt clunky and unwieldy and never locked into place, and it was difficult to put on a bike rack. We were recently cycling down a country lane when someone stopped us to warn that my bike was falling off the stand! The sliding latch on the saree pole is loose. I decided this was the last straw for the saris handlebar, I needed something new. The pin locking mechanism is wider than the Saris handlebar and seems to fit myโ€ฆ

You get what you pay for

I bought these two "Bike Beam" pull bars from Allen and Saris. The sari was twice the price of the Allen and both had great reviews but for me the quality is worth paying a little more for. Allen costs less than $20. I paid $49.99 for the saris at a local saris bike shop. I would NOT pay the nearly $80 saris for sale here at Revain (go to Saris.com or go to your local bike shop where $49.99 is MSRP). I've read other Allen reviews about the locking pin change and I was fine with making thisโ€ฆ

DANGER - AVOID!

I bought this item in January but only used it last week. I have a large bike but the handlebar description fits it. And while at first I didn't think it would fit when I got it and was almost going to send it back, I realized that once it's fully stripped and placed correctly on the bike it will fit. But it was definitely stretched to its maximum length, and the point at which the inner bar, attached by a strong spring, touched the outer bar obviously sagged a bit when placed on the rack. Butโ€ฆ

AVOID! This is not the best solution for a person with a women's bike!

As a 61-year-old woman, I enjoyed biking in my neighborhood and decided it was time to get serious and ride the beautiful trails of Southwest Illinois. Tow hitch and bike rack mounted and then I thought I was done. Yesterday I fitted this handlebar to the bike and moved very slowly to make sure I did everything right. I was unhappy with the front (handlebar part) scratching the metal of my bike but figured it was the cost of transporting the bike. After checking everything three times, I lifted

Great product with some small flaws

I tried different bike adapters: Yakima - strong, durable, well built. But without an internal bungee, the locking arms fold up, which isn't very convenient, and have an exposed nut to snag on the bike rack's straps. an internal bungee that offers very little resistance, so I doubt its effectiveness. Saris: This one is probably my favorite because it doesn't have swinging arms. The locking mechanism opens and closes on the steering wheel, takes a little getting used to, but you get used to itโ€ฆ
