Review on ๐Ÿšฒ ALLEN Tension Bar Bicycle Crossbar Adaptor, Black, Universal Size by Sean Purnomo

Great product with some small flaws

I tried different bike adapters: Yakima - strong, durable, well built. But without an internal bungee, the locking arms fold up, which isn't very convenient, and have an exposed nut to snag on the bike rack's straps. an internal bungee that offers very little resistance, so I doubt its effectiveness. Saris: This one is probably my favorite because it doesn't have swinging arms. The locking mechanism opens and closes on the steering wheel, takes a little getting used to, but you get used to it quickly. It is just as strong and durable as the Yakima, and like the Yakima does not have an internal basin, but both have an internal "stop" to prevent the two sides of the tube from being pulled apart. Now about the hexagon. At the lowest price of all the adapters above, this bar offers the best value for money in my opinion. You just have to know what you're getting. First, it appears to be a large internal metal spring that offers very strong resistance, making it the only handlebar I've tested that didn't move at all once attached to the bike. . This makes it incredibly stable. As for the issues that some reviewers have pointed out, the metal locking pin on one end of the handlebars will likely scratch your bike's paintwork at some point. However, if the handlebar post or the seats of your bike are not painted, this is of course not a problem for you. Some of those who paint these bike parts have found ways to cover the pin (tape, shrink wrap, rubber tubing, etc.). For myself, I used a strong rubber cable jacket split on one side. I cut it to size and it easily wraps around a metal peg to protect the bike's paint. One safety issue I've read about is that the metal clip that holds the pin in place can loosen and loosen, releasing the pin and causing the bike to fall. As far as I can tell, most people don't have this problem. I can see how pulling the clip over the end of the bar to hook it can loosen it over time, but I think you know this, accidentally pressing the clip is an easy way to make sure it's snapped remains firm. Additionally, a simple nylon sheath or short bungee cord can dispel any doubts. Another feature of this adapter bar is that the locking process (aligning and threading the pin through the two holes, then pulling the clip to the other side to secure the pin) is a little more awkward than any others that require a simple twist or slide to lock. Add to this the different placement of the rubber sleeve around the pen and the elastic cord around the locking clip and it takes a little longer to put on and take off this adapter. Despite these minor flaws, I think the hex adapter is a great product. The lower price makes up for the slightly less user-friendly app.
