I bought one of those Microcenter open box monitors for $100. I play decent games but have never felt like investing in a 144Hz or 4K monitor because I don't feel like I'm THAT a big gamer. Instead I bought 2 more of these from Revain when I saw their price drop from $150 to $99 last week. They're set up on a makeshift desk for now, but I'm already enjoying the three-screen experience. I put them in surround mode where they are recognized as one giant widescreen. It's like a step between regular PC games and virtual reality games. The screens are a bit chunky, but the price doesn't bother me. The screen is matte, I like it. The stand wobbles a bit, but not enough to cause any issues or unwanted movement.
