I don't like that only half the ports work at boot but that's the nature of the beast. A more expensive card that doesn't share resources might solve this problem, but this card works fine after installing the drivers. It's slow when writing to multiple drives on the same card, but reading doesn't seem to be a huge bottleneck, and my main goal was archiving massive amounts of data, and that's good enough for that. (The cons I mentioned are explained on the product page so it's not surprising) Good price but not great for every application. This requires extensive reads or writes to multiple disks on the card, but the occasional use to increase disk capacity is hard to beat for the cost.
