Fits and cools a 15 " laptop

I enjoy using my old Windows 7 laptop (my main work station) for weeks without AC in the room with this cooling pad. The room temperature was over 90 at times. This laptop cooling pad keeps my laptop's temperature within acceptable operating temps. I hate it when the laptop gets so hot it slows down self-cooling. This didn't happen, although it did in early summer when I didn't have a cooling pad when the laptop fan was getting louder indicating higher speeds and the computer was running at less than max speed. I had two main considerations: size and functionality. My ACER ASPIRE Notebook 5733Z is a 15.6 inch 10 x 15 inch widescreen laptop. The only cooling is provided by a 1.5-inch bottom grille (with fan) on the left rear, which pulls in room air and pushes hot air out to the side. The N11 TECKNET Cooling Pad measures approximately 11" x 15.25" and the top sits 1" above the table when flat (the back rises to an overall height of 2.5" when the legs are extended are). The vented surface is about 10 inches deep and about 11 inches wide. There are 4 90mm corner fans and 1 110mm fan in the middle. They LOOK air into the laptop, which matches my laptop as it increases airflow through the vent. When the fans are running, you can only feel a slight movement of air on the ventilated surface with your hand, but if you cover the entire surface with tissue paper, it will lift the paper slightly. An ordinary piece of paper is too small, like a hand, and the air flows around it, creating an attraction. In any case, I've found that the back of my laptop is cooler and the operating temperature stays low when I use a cooling pad. I found I could easily use the cooling pad on my desk or on my lap. On my knees with bare feet I feel the pull of the air. I've found that I usually sit with my feet on the sides of the angled openings and feel the air on the inside of my leg. Sometimes I switch and think I'm blocking the fan port, but the air seems to be moving more through the other ports. The pillow itself has rubberized non-slip feet that work well. There are also retractable rear legs that allow you to tilt the cooling pad for a more natural working angle (adding 1.5 inches to the backrest height). The hind legs swing back and forth slightly with one toe. The cooling pad has a recessed device at the bottom that can be folded out and used as a drawer for your laptop. My laptop's feet have a good grip and it doesn't slide on the stand, but the top of the cooling pad is smooth and certainly lets it slide with no anti-slip device. The stand must be connected to a USB power source (on your laptop or other USB socket) in order to function. A USB cable is included and once connected there is one free (USB2) port (two total) on the left side of the tablet. The fans have blue LEDs when they are on. Both the light and fan speed are linked together with a knob on the left that you can turn to control the light and fan speed. The light does not switch on and off independently, but dims or only switches off together with the fans. The fans whisper softly and I rarely notice them unless I'm listening. They make a soft and gentle shhhhh. I used to have a laptop cooler (Targus Lap Chill Mat) that I used but it broke. I bought another cooling pad (TECKNET N5 - I tested it too!) but it was too small (14" wide) for this laptop and I slipped another N5 under the 12.5" wide laptop I was using use. Compared to the Targus, the N11 is quieter and more reliable, plus the N11 has an available USB port instead of the USB port you use to power your cooling pad. Big enough for my laptop, the N11 does the job of increasing airflow and cooling my computer. I am happy with my purchase!
