I thought the shower components should be metal. I guess I was wrong. This attitude is not good. If I hadn't been stuck with a contractor coming to install and couldn't get a replacement fast enough I would have returned this. The part where the handle plugs into another shower head is incredibly difficult to work on. If we installed it it would rip the thing off the wall - it's hard to remove and replace. The valve trim knob is metal on the big knob and plastic on the other - why can't they make both parts out of metal? How long does it take for the plastic to disappear or get scratched? The worst thing is the bathtub filler. It's 100% plastic. It looks like fingerprints will stick to it. Difficult to erase fingerprints. Time will tell if we will replace it. We have already purchased another shower head with handle to replace this one. We stuck with it because we thought it would be a quality part for the price. The only reason we didn't send it back is because we needed a valve and we thought the idea of having the trim later option was a great idea. Hopefully we won't regret it later.
