Cool but. in Kitchenware and Gadgets

I bought this to replace another brand that fell apart on me in less than a year Pros: 1. It's attractive to my lazy Susan on the table2. It's a good size, can fit a little without needing to refill for some time It will automatically turn over and start grinding4. Grind is medium to fine. I love ground pepper, of course, and finely ground pink salt, so that's a nice feature. Light! You can see how it falls and where. Cons: 1. It takes 6 (SIX!) batteries, heck if you buy a set like me that's a dozen batteries! I don't know how long it will last as I've only had it for a few months. But 6 pieces! I admit I skipped that part when purchasing and it would be an instant deal breaker it's so wasteful! 2. It's automatic. Okay, I love this feature, but it grinds the middle of the tip down and the middle of the tip up so you have excess at the top and can't get out without tipping over again, and it starts rubbing everything around you also put your fingers in to clean it. This. 😐 A nuisance and wasteful, it comes with a small brush reminiscent of my husband's electric razor, something I don't want to use at the dinner table but I end up cleaning.3. Be careful not to overfill it. For example, leave 3/4 to 1 inch of room in the grinder. It sounds like it's grinding, but nothing comes out. I almost came back thinking it was defective but that was the problem.4. No toppers. Okay, they sit in the top position because it works. Fine, but listen to this thing. Dust. It sits on the table and can collect dust, which you then add to your food. You need a top for that. My old ones were seated (not automatically) but still had the tip. I use plastic wrap for the cover but it's not pretty πŸ€” Overall. Do you like me? Yes, they are fine. They look great on my desk and do the job but the number of batteries is off putting and I have 4 of these suction cups (bought 2 sets at a time) it's freaky but if you can do without batteries it's not bad and the automatic coffee grinder idea would be great gift. Why 3 stars? Batteries and excessive tipping cause and need a lid.
