Needed a replacement for my old soap dish but was hoping to get a decent zoom without spending a lot of money. I saw this camera for over $200 a year ago, but at that price I read the reviews and took a chance. He arrived just before we left for the North Shore of Minnesota. On a (bizarrely) warm and foggy October day, far away on Lake Superior, the sailboat was a blank smudge. Zoom surprised me! The sailboat and the three on it were very clean. The photos of the seaplane taking off and the seagulls cruising along the beach were great. First time I used a camera! I'm not particularly good at "how to do this", but with the (very) abbreviated run instructions I got the basics up and running fairly quickly. The main disadvantage is that the lens does not have an "automatic" lens cap. You must remove it. It's okay, but many reviews have complained about it. For the price, including case and memory card, this camera is light, easy to use and takes surprisingly good pictures. I've used it for less than 2 weeks but have used it a lot in that time. I will update. Based on the first 200 photos (more than half removed while sorting it out) I would recommend it or buy it as a gift. Thank you Rewin!
