Should fit a 5' X 7', not be a 5' X 7'

The pad is thick enough, but I wish it were softer. My rug just barely overhangs, maybe 1/4" all the way around, so you can see the pad underneath as you walk up to it. Also, the pad will move slightly before gripping to the floor. This review is just based on one day of use. Time will tell if these circumstances improve or worsen(e.g., the pad may soften over time, the pad's grip on the rug may prove to be insufficient, etc.)

I’ve used several different rug pads over the years for my favorite handmade tribal knotted and kilim rugs. This padding is absolutely the best in all ways. It stays put and keeps rugs flat and safe to walk on without sliding or crumpling. I did have to buy some heavier duty shears because the padding is too thick and dense for regular household scissors — it was well worth it. I highly recommend these rug pads.
