I got this because it's so damn cute, I won't lie. There will be absolutely hot air! I've had it for a few days now and can confirm that the burn mark mentioned in other reviews appears in the center of the lid after a day of use. Other than that it doesn't bother me as it's not very dark. Bye. It gives off a lot of heat, but not very far. Two feet or more from the surface of the heater you will not feel direct heat. But it heats the air around it pretty well, if that makes sense. I have a big problem, and I've had it with almost every heater I've had, is that it's either too high or it bangs right in my face. , or if I hadn't taken the legs off too low and almost overheated the keyboard (I never knew that was the case). All in all, not a bad little heater for the office to keep the chill out.
