Another YouTube Project Farm sale. This replaces the Fram filter. Subjectively, the Wix filter seems to have a higher airflow than the Fram. I can't prove it and it's not dramatic. The perception of a slight increase in performance through stronger airflow may be an expectation on my part. Previous air filter changes didn't seem any different, even a K&N "Performance" filter. Regardless, comparing Project Farm to other filters seems to support the idea that it has higher airflow. That may or may not be good. The tests performed in the Project Farm video are different from what test engineers and technicians do when designing air filters. If you read the YouTube comments accompanying this video, the air filter engineer replies with an interesting and detailed explanation of the differences in the tests his company runs compared to this video. Either way, I'll probably buy another Wix filter when the time comes. The only downside to this filter, unlike the Fram, is that the fit isn't as precise as the Fram. Fram team really stuck to quality control. It slides smoothly with no gaps on the edges and seals perfectly. Wix silicone gasket material does not apply as evenly around the filter as OEM and Fram. I would even say it's a bit sloppy. This doesn't seem to affect function, but it definitely affects form and fit. When I first tried it, it didn't quite fit. Slightly oversized, causing the filter to curve slightly. I had to rotate it several times before I could use it. After that, I got a tight and confident fit. Good product but not without problems. When in doubt, stick with the Fram or OEM filter.
