Fingerprint Not Working

I buy this lock first to keep my 5 year old from getting into our pantry. He figured out how to open it in the first week, without fingerprinting, so I'm guessing at least a stranger can't break into our locker. Did I manage to open the lock yesterday wearing gloves? too expensive for a nice ordinary lock.
