Motorcraft seems to be the answer!

*** OVERVIEW Motorcraft CX1779 Air Idle Control *** I have a 2001 Mercury Sable with a DOHC engine. When the IAC fails, the car's idle speed begins to fluctuate between 800 and 1300 rpm, worse during a cold start. I've tried some of the retail stores but my experience has shown that aftermarket IACs are pretty low quality. They can last weeks or even months, but they start to break down quickly and eventually become unusable. **Further checking after reuse, especially if it starts to fail. No news is good news. ***
